Let the Good Things Grow

"LET THE GOOD THINGS GROW"

I came across this sweet catchphrase the other day, and like many other anecdotes I tend to pick up from podcasts, books, and social media, I tucked this one away in the catalog of sayings that tend to wash over and inspire me from time to time, just when I need it.  This one, delivered at just the right time as I announce our Spring takeover at The Ames, resonated with me as we enter this next season.

I don't know about you, but it took me a good while to settle into the new year this time around.  Life has seasons, right?  And for me personally, the bridge between 2022 and 2023 was not charged with the electricity I normally have going into the blank slate of a new year.  All of the messaging surrounding “New Year, New You” and going headstrong into the fresh start to achieve bigger, better goals…it just wasn't hitting home for me this year.  Which frightened me a bit, to be honest, since normally, I am right there with all of the fanfare supporting you to get yourself a fresh planner, a new set of excellent pens, and a big dream.

Many (many, many) times, I have heard about the concept of using the winter for rest…much like things in nature…go dormant.  And while I tried to resist the idea, and even disagreed with it (hello, I am running a business after all. I can't just STOP), I was eventually forced into it.  More than ever before, I just felt a true calling, based on my personal circumstances, to just chill.  My friends told me.  My husband told me.  Tarot card readings told me.  Everything told me to just chill.

It turns out, I really enjoy using the first quarter of the year to sit with what feels good and what doesn't feel so good.  Rather than blasting into the new year without looking both ways, this space has really allowed me to evaluate with a clearer mind, one that is not over-stimulated and utterly exhausted.  Like being hungry or upset, I now believe that being in the midst of the holiday season is no time to be making any big decisions.  I mean, let's just let the nervous system regulate a bit, shall we?

After this time of rest, paired with my new fave quote “let the good things grow”, I now feel a bit more prepared to take on more, but only more of what feels good.  I have decided to let some things go, and instead redirect my attention towards the GOOD.  I see Spring as the perfect time to do this, and moving along with my nature analogy, let's water these babies…the good things.  Let's shower them in Golden sunlight and watch them grow.

So, with all of that nature talk being said, I believe NOW is the time to get things moving and shaking.  Let's focus on the good, and let's have a little fun. Let's get some creative vignettes designed, let's play with florals and beach cruisers and bubbles.  Let's bring the airiness of spring and all that is new and fresh to your brand.  Let's capture you and your business in the name of what is GOOD, and let's make it GROW.

I would LOVE for you to join me on Friday, March 24th at The Ames for our Spring Content Takeover!  Sessions are one hour each, and the space is limited.  Bring your own photographer OR I can happily recommend one of my vetted Creative Partners.

It's going to be a blast!
