Behind the Logo
A Brand is so much more than a logo:
Don’t get me wrong…I love a killer logo, and I absolutely think that you should invest in the design of a great one if you are in business. A logo is the often the first thing your potential customers see when they hear about you or stumble upon your social media platforms. It very well could be the first impression you get to make on your audience, so YES, it is oh-so-important. For these reasons and more, I am really excited to work alongside some super talented designers as our Creative Partners to get you and your business the best-looking logo around, but did you know that there is SO MUCH MORE behind your logo than a great design?
As a brand enhancer, this is my message on repeat. The story behind your brand, your values, how those values align with your target audience and how you connect all of those pieces together is what creates your brand. It’s a feeling. It’s a human connection. It’s how you get the message across.
In our work together, we will identify creative ways in which to elevate your brand, allowing you to best connect with all the right people, but this work often starts here…at your logo design.
Your logo design is setting the stage for telling your audience your story, and because there is so much behind your business (exactly WHAT you do, WHY you do it, and WHO you do it for), the process should be discovery-based, just as mine was working with one of our Creative Partners, Janet from SkyHouse Creative.

If you have been following along with my entrepreneurial journey, you may know that I have been working on the development of Golden Creative for over two years, so there is a great deal of juice behind this new brand of mine. This work has come to me as an unexpected surprise from my ownership of Sweet Annie, a boutique floral design studio, where I learned how much I loved connecting with my audience through storytelling and human connection. What I also realized is that while I loved this portion of running my business and felt grateful that it generally came easily to me, that was not the case for all business owners. For some, the idea of branding their business is daunting, overwhelming, and overall kind of confusing.
How much to share? Should it be personal? What does branding even really mean? Isn’t it just a logo?
My WHY became quickly clear…I wanted to be able to help other business owners along what can be an overwhelming journey, especially for “solopreneurs” who are wearing so many hats. More importantly, I wanted to be able to help others safely connect to the soul of their brands and tell their unique and amazing story. For me, this is exciting stuff….like a perfectly wrapped package. This work makes me excited, gives me purpose, and honestly makes me just really, really happy.
So, there is the beginning of the GOLDEN Story…a brand that says, “fun, exciting, no-stress, confident, happy, personal, and soulful”. From there, I thought about some of things that represent those feelings for me, and I quickly thought of the sun, endless beach days, friendships, travel, and unforgettable experiences. I created a visualization of my brand with the things well-represent all of those concepts, and we were onto something…
From there, I had now hitched up with Janet of SkyHouse Creative, who through her discovery process uncovered even more about the backstory of the GOLDEN brand. Her mission was to best represent all those feelings thorough her creation of a logo design, supporting assets and graphics, font systems, and color stories. And she nailed it. Golden’s logo is everything I hoped it would be, as it sets the stage for what to expect from this business, one committed to helping others connect to the soul of their brand through creativity, curiosity, and adventurous experiences.
Golden is here to help the elevation of other brands, and the work does not have to be daunting, overwhelming, or confusing. In fact, it should be fun, exciting, and easy-breezy.
