Client Feature: A Home Organizer on a Mission to Bring Her Brand to Life

I first officially met Sarah when we were sat next to one another at the nail salon several months back. We each recognized the other having a similar circle in our retail community. I was excited to hear that aside from her hours at the adorable shop down the street from mine, she was spending her time building her budding Home Organization business. As I do with any other entrepreneur, I immediately started cheering Sarah on and wanted to know exactly how everything was going. Like many other small business owners, Sarah mentioned that one of her biggest struggles was making herself known, especially when the noise on social media can feel so loud.

How do we stand out in a very big, loud crowd?

This is a real question that as business owners of any size, we need to ask ourselves. There is always someone else out there, doing exactly what we do and offering the same things as us. So, how do we set ourselves apart from the rest and how do we best make those qualities visible to the ideal people we would like to work with. This is what branding is ALL about….knowing so deeply WHY we do what we do and making it known to all the right people. Many people (myself included, at times!) tend to go straight to social media when they think about presenting themselves, but as we know, there are so many other valuable places to be marketing our business both online and offline.

I knew I wanted to help…

It only took one powder manicure for me to know that I had to find a way to help Sarah. When our nails were complete, I bid her farewell and wished her the best of luck on her business, hoping that this wouldn’t be the only time I got the chance to talk with her about her Home Organization business. Soon after, my wish came true when we bumped into each other again. Of course, I asked how things were going and mentioned that if she was interested I would love to help her with increasing the brand awareness around her business. I told her that the best and fastest way I thought she could make an impact on her brand connection was to do a photoshoot. At this point in her journey, Sarah had very few photos of her work and more importantly, HER doing her work. She was using brand stock photos on her site (which I was dying to replace with her own brand stock photos), and her social media was feeling like a struggle without the content she needed at her fingertips.

Amazing news-she said yes! Soon after, we got to work on meeting to discuss her short and long term goals, who her ideal client was, WHY she wanted to do this work, the story behind her starting this business and what makes her so amazing at what she does.

There was so much juice behind the story!

There always is…there is always an amazing story behind why someone starts a business, and knowing this detail and dreaming about how we can form a connection with a target audience based on the WHY of a brand is literally the work I love to do. I learned so much about Sarah (and her lovely mom, Karen who is her right hand woman) and the desire she has to bring organization to other peoples’ lives. It turns out that it isn’t just about making a closet or pantry Pinterest-worthy. While that is certainly a huge plus, Sarah has a passion for helping people bring peace to their lives with clean spaces. She sees the benefit of how we can truly function better when our homes are organized with intentionality. I couldn’t wait to get to work…

The photos…

Ahh, these came out so great! We worked with my great friend and Creative Partner-in-crime, Illume Photography (Merissa) to capture the Home Setup brand content, and we were lucky enough to land the most perfect home location to tell the exact story we wanted to tell. With these photos, Sarah now has such an amazing asset in her pocket, which will improve her brand awareness across all of her marketing channels. She has relevant and intentional content to last an incredibly long time, and we managed to get loads of those brand stock images that will last a lifetime. I am so excited for Sarah and how she chose to show up for her business. I can’t wait to see her business boom with building this awareness.
